A working session for reading your own numbers before they become news.
I hate the word governance.
In my experience, people reach for it when they want an excuse to do nothing. A committee. A policy document. A shelf.
Then Todd Jacobs of Theia listened to my JERK ideas and said: this is what governance should be. Watching the leading indicators, not the lagging ones.
He's right. So we're keeping the word and changing what it means.
What this is
You have numbers. Sales, leads, invoices, close rates. You glance at them monthly and feel either fine or vaguely worried.
Most dashboards tell you where you are. That's position. It's the last thing to change.
In this session you bring one of your own numbers and learn to read it at four layers: position, velocity, acceleration, jerk. All of it by subtraction. The math takes a minute. The seeing takes practice.
You'll also learn the harder skill: choosing what to watch. One participant left my last workshop, built a matrix of 22 metrics in two days, and immediately said the true thing — I do not need 22 metrics. She's right. The discipline isn't watching more. It's watching less, earlier.
What you leave with
A small basket of metrics for your business. Internal where you have them, upstream where you don't. Read at all four layers. Checked monthly.
The session
Live, working format. No slides, no pitch. You do the exercise on your own data. $500.
Rose Thun founded Design Rosetta, a Baltimore firm that helps leaders think clearly about new technology and trains their teams to use it.
She’s built products and led teams through five waves: aerospace composites, early internet, mobile, additive manufacturing, and AI. She’s watched adoptions succeed and fail. The difference is rarely the tech.
Rose works with leaders who want to understand the tools themselves, and want their team to understand them too, so the organization doesn't rest on one person knowing everything. Her clients decide faster and get their time back.
She teaches AI fluency, Answer Engine Optimization, and signal reading with the JERK framework and is THEIA Certified.
She publishes The JERK Report every Monday. Short read on catching change early enough to do something about it.
