What's on your home screen?
I'm not typically a feng shui person, but Marie Diamond had this terrific suggestion for the new year.
Rearrange your phone so the first page is priorities, productivity, and abundance. Put the distractions on the last page.
Her point is bigger - you shape your behavior by how you arrange your space and time.
As the daughter of two architects, this isn't new to me. But I love her framing: a 3D vision board you actually live in.
I tried the phone icon changes and felt the shift immediately. I scrolled less, reached for the essentials first, felt less overwhelm and more clarity.
So absolutely try that.
Apply this in your business: ask the bigger question. How do you make what matters most more prevalent - in your digital space, your physical space, your time?
Most business owners can't see it. You're running so fast you can't step back to notice what's actually getting your attention versus what deserves it.
A few places to look:
Your conversations and meeting agendas - what do you start with?
Your calendar - do the important things get prime slots?
Your dashboards and kanbans - which numbers do you see first, leading or lagging indicators?
Your digital workspace - how many tabs are open, how many clicks to what you need to do?
Your physical space - does it make your most important work easy to do?
Pick one. Start there.
Even just the phone screen counts.
I'd love to hear what you find.
Happy New Year.
