How to write emails humans and AI won’t miss

The way you write emails now shapes how machines—and therefore people—decide what matters.

I was on a call with my friend Jessie.
We joked about those endless threads—
where the subject line is from 16 messages ago.

It’s easier for the sender, but a mess for the recipient.
And the easiest way to miss something important.

Most emails are written for people.
But AI agents are starting to read them first.

    Here’s the problem:
If your main point is buried in line six, it’s gone.
    The human doesn’t see it.
    The AI doesn’t surface it.

    The simple fixes:

    • Put your main point in the subject and first line.

    • One idea per paragraph.

    • Use bullets, not blocks.

    • Label sections: “Decision,” “Additional Info,” “Next steps.”

The way you write emails now shapes how machines—
    and therefore people—decide what matters.

So make it easy to follow. Make sure your point can’t be missed—by humans or AI.
